These cables can present a significant hazard by reaching extreme temperatures upwards of 500°F at the tip. Upon disconnection during procedures, this can lead to accidental surgical fires or burns. By ensuring a consistent barrier to prevent contact between the hot tip and flammable materials or patient tissue, GloShield effectively addresses this risk. With its implementation in over 300,000 surgeries without a single reported incident of fire or burn, the product has affirmed its clinical relevance.
